A significant update to our MOBILE CHIP SDK brings substantial performance enhancements. Lower latency makes identity verification processes noticeably faster and smoother for end users. A suite of new support features, namely trace and log files as well as a new diagnosis option, is designed to simplify support and monitoring.
Faster and Smoother Identity Verification
The latest version of the MOBILE CHIP SDK delivers noticeably reduced latency, making online identity checks, for example during remote onboarding, quicker and more seamless for end users. This improvement addresses delays and timeouts, resulting in lower dropouts and increased satisfaction rates. The enhancements were achieved by a modification of the eMRTD Connector, the component of MOBILE CHIP SDK responsible for communicating with the chip of an electronic passport or ID card. The eMRTD Connector reads the chip data, which is then forwarded to the secure the DocVal Server (Trusted Document Validation Server), which verifies the data’s authenticity and integrity.
Customers now benefit from eMRTD responses that are 3-4 times faster, even if they decide to operate only a single DocVal Server for end users worldwide. The system is flexible and allows organizations to choose between a single or several secure servers distributed across the world, both, on their own premises, to serve end users worldwide.
Greater Transparency and Control
The update introduces comprehensive trace and log files which provide detailed, time-stamped insight into each verification step, most notably its successful completion. Customers can now review every step of the verification process, including results and behaviors, for documentation and troubleshooting purposes. The trace and log files enable developers to identify and resolve specific issues, for example, when an end customer uses a foreign ID document which does not adhere to standards.
Complementing the trace and log files is a new diagnosis feature that allows customers to capture detailed diagnostic data during the core document verification process. Once a connection between the DocVal Server and the document is established and the document chip is accessed, the diagnosis tool records errors and anomalies – for example, if a passport’s chip can be accessed, but not read, or if the identity document causes an unexpected error. As the MOBILE CHIP SDK is often integrated into customers’ app solutions, developers can choose to address the diagnosed issues themselves, or share their findings with kinegram.digital’s technical experts for further assistance.
Traces, logs, and diagnostics provide a comprehensive overview of system behavior and performance, enabling customers to quickly determine the causes of any anomalies and to define necessary improvements. In turn, these diagnostic insights will also serve the continuous, customer-focused optimization of kinegram.digital’s MOBILE CHIP SDK.
Future-Ready Digital Identity Verification
These enhancements underscore our commitment to providing cutting-edge, reliable, and efficient solutions for secure digital identity document verification. By offering increased speed, greater traceability and enhanced diagnostic options, the MOBILE CHIP SDK continues to set benchmarks for reliability and user experience.
