What is a vehicle license plate?
A license plate, also known as registration plate or number plate, is a government-issued identifier used to uniquely distinguish and officially identify vehicles. License plates display an alphanumeric code, i.e. a mix of letters and numbers, linking the vehicle to its registration records and enabling authorities to identify the vehicle and its owner. The code follows standardized regional formats.

How does the license plate scanner read data from a license plate?
Using advanced optical recognition, the MOBILE SCAN SDK’s license plate scanner module automatically identifies and processes license plates when the scanning function is activated. The smartphone camera instantly captures the data and provides them to your app. To ensure strict privacy, the license plate scanner does not take a photo of the plate. The data is directly forwarded to follow-up processes.
